After the Feeding program activities I attended in Santa Clara Norte, Pila Laguna now it’s my chance to go around and see the town. Dropping by in the Church is truly a sign that this place is a Heritage town. I feel great seeing old bricks structure of the San Antonio Parish Church.
Pila is a 4th class municipality in the province of Laguna, Philippines. You will notice that the town is site for some well-preserved houses way back to the Spanish period. And it was really fun to see how they kept this structure preserve and remind tourist the old times.
Being here at this moment is totally awesome while we are in the spacious town plaza. It’s Pila Day and people here celebrating their festivity. You can see colorful costume wearing by those group performers to entertain people, selling handicraft, traditional delicacies and hearing folk music.
Everybody smiling at you and you will feel the presence of the olden times. And I really enjoy it.
They actually make some small stage in front of their Municipal Hall Center for performers. And I enjoy seeing the colorful flags which is symbol of feast. On the other part you will see lots of old houses and each has its own unique architecture and intricate design.
The town has a very active heritage in which people here continuously led efforts to preserve the heritage of this genteel town. There is so much to reminisce in every structure of house that you will see around; it will fuel up your imagination wondering the ancient Filipino life during Spanish and American colonization.
We don’t have the chances to get in and explore the church and the small museum. The Church is close yet and will open later in the afternoon however the museum is close because its weekend and I guess people are too much busy celebrating the town festivity. Even though I don’t have chance to get inside of the church and the small museum I still find and feel the powerful heritage charisma of the town.
The atmosphere is totally unusual compare to urban life. Based on my observation life here is truly simple but obviously shown a high spirits way of living. Pila Laguna is actually underrated place for some tourist because of concealed beauty. But if you are a nature lover and history enthusiast you will definitely appreciate what exactly this place can reveal and remind you about olden times.
I will probably back here and explore more. So if you have the chances to drop here you better enjoy going around share your stories.
Love
