It’s February 2016 and we called February as LOVE month. Before the Valentine’s Day I seen lot of netizen in social media express and show their bitterness, loneliness, sadness and feel envy for those couples, lovers and a sweet happily married partners exchanging sweet greetings and posting cheesy pictures.
Love is in the air as what the quotes spread, advertisement about love is often seen in the internet, flowers and chocolates are famous and sweet music reminds about LOVE.
Then let me greet you Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you! Every individual has their own stories about love and own life.
I probably know myself that there are no flowers, chocolates and anything for this Valentine’s Day for me. Of course no need to dream for a date that’s too impossible even if I wish it will happen.
But I’m so glad I have chances at the second time around to celebrate my Pre-Valentine with the kids who fight in battle of cancer in Philippines Children Hospital located in Quezon City, Manila. I remember the first time I share about my story regards the same Charity entitled “Even a Heart can Travel”.
At this time I plan and I’m not late, I came early to be part of 6th Portrait of Love conducted by one of the famous and respected ambassador of Photography in the Philippines Ms. Pilar Tuazon. And as I say she is very inspirational figure of a kind hearted woman and artist. I feel so delighted to be part of her advocacy to volunteer I, myself spending my time to play, inspiring kids to share love, time and be connected with them despite of their serious battle about cancer.
It’s a bit emotional seeing them and the feeling was torn apart of feeling pity why they need to be in this kind of situation. I guess the moment you hear their parents that they want to keep extend their life and struggle about the cure and the process, your heart was totally broken after you know everything.
The kids are actually talented and you will feel and see that they still want to live longer and be free in cancer.
But on the other part, we as volunteers need to be strong and embrace braveness to fight our emotions and share good vibes to these amazing and charming kids around us. I seen my few old buddies the moment I met them on the first place I join this charity. At this time some of them have good news about the progress of curing their health problem. And I’m hoping and wishing they will be soon cancer free to live longer.
Today we will have artwork activities like making valentines card that will be given to their parents and doctors, playing clay, drawing, tattoo art booth, giving stuff toys, magic show, balloon design and giving, photo shoot with free print and frame for parents and kids, foods and give away.
And most of all sharing time and let the kids smile and laugh this day.
I adore people who are not selfish to share time, love, and making effort and understand humanity. And I felt that I must follow their foot step as well not for my own self sake to lift myself up, not to eulogize or praising. But because it’s for me to grow, to be better and better person and value what I have and consider life is a blessing.
It’s really made my day feel delighted and inspired by this charity activities to exchange good vibes, love and forgot many things but focus about kindness and happiness.
These kids was actually amazing, the moment you talk and connected with them is like receiving a good messages to learn, feel love and loved. Their innocent was truly adorable and I appreciate as well the unity of our team for sharing this wonderful aim not just to help but to inspire many.
In this moment you will feel and hear your heart beat saying you are touching the soul of these kids and reaching their heart being with them. Not a stranger, not as normal volunteer but a special people next to their parents or family to be with them in their fight or battle of this killer disease called cancer.
Now I truly understand and proof to myself that valentines was not made for two people who fall in love to each other and celebrate hearts day, but it doesn’t mean you are out of it or no right to include yourself because you are single, heart broken or longing in life. Valentine was made for every individual who have heart to share love to each and every one in this whole world.
And this kind of experience in my life will always be remembered that having a heart and travel with purpose gives you hope, strength, courage, lesson to learn and make you realize more sensible things in this world.
I would like thank Ms. Pilar again for having me and be part of this amazing charity activity for the second time around. And spending hours with these kids are worth for and valuable. To the entire sponsor (I will not mention them one by one), to my fellow volunteer and people behind of successful and eye and mind opening event like this, thank you and hope we keep continue our aim to share our helping hands to help, open our door and share kindness. Thank you all so much.
And I send my prayer to all of these kids to enjoy life and make them stay longer and enjoy their moment to explore the world. Because they also stand and symbolize courage for being brave to fight all the process, struggle and challenges facing through time to time or day by day. I wish that they will cure and keep the strong faith that they will overcome the entire difficulties of fighting Cancer.
These kids are special they need more love, they need your time, they need ears to listen with them, they need brother and sister, they just want to play and need a helping hands. And the simplest respond you can do is to support them by reaching their heart and soul to encourage them and feel loved with your presence. So I encourage you to make time sometimes to be part of this kind of charity/activity and always share kindness.
Now all I can say is my heart travel again and I travel with purpose, and its unforgettable moment to write a new story in every chapter of my life. That I’ am happy doing this with all my heart!
